Berikut ini adalah Tenses yang umum digunakan dalam Bahasa Inggris.

Simple Present
Affirmative	She drinks.
Negative	She does not drink.
Interrogative	Does she drink?
Bentuk	I, you we they play | he, she, it plays
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang berlangsung secara berulang -ulang, bisa berupa kebiasaan (habit) untuk menyatakan fakta untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang terjadi berurutan untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang terjadwal

Present Progressive
Affirmative	He is reading.
Negative	He is not reading.
Interrogative	Is he reading?
Bentuk	To be (in the simple present) + verb + ing
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang sedang berlangsung / dalam proses untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang direncanakan di masa depan

Simple Past
Affirmative	I cried.
Negative	I did not cry
Interrogative	Did I cry?
Bentuk	Regular verbs: Verb + ed | Irregular verbs: forms differ and should be learned by heart.
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang terjadi di masa lampau untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang terjadi secara berurutan di masa lampau untuk menyatakan kebiasaan di masa lampau (used to)

Past Progressive
Affirmative	He was driving.
Negative	He was not driving.
Interrogative	Was he driving?
Bentuk	to be (in the simple past) + verb + ing
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang sedang terjadi di waktu spesifik di masa lampau untuk menyatakan dua kejadian atau lebih yang terjadi bersamaan di masa lampau untuk menyatakan suatu kegiatan yang sedang brelangsung disela oleh kejadian lain di masa lampau

Present Perfect
Affirmative	They have slept.
Negative	They have not slept.
Interrogative	Have they slept?
Bentuk	Have / has + past participle (past participle of regular verbs: verb + ed | Past participle of irregular verbs: forms differ and should be learned by heart.
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan suatu kegiatan yang telah berlangsung akan tetapi waktunya tidak jelas untuk menyatakan sesuatu yang telah dimulai di masa lalu, dan sekarang masih berlangsung

Present Perfect Progressive
Affirmative	He has been thinking.
Negative	He has not been thinking.
Interrogative	Has he been thinking?
Bentuk	have or has + been + verb + ing
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang sudah dimulai di masa lalu dan sekarang masih berlangsung

Past Perfect
Affirmative	She had won.
Negative	She had not won.
Interrogative	Had she won?
Bentuk	had + past participle (past participle of regular verbs: verb + ed | Past participle of irregular verbs: forms differ and should be learned by heart.
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang terjadi sebelum kejadian yang lain di masa lampau

Past Perfect Progressive
Affirmative	He had been waiting.
Negative	He had not been waiting.
Interrogative	Had he been waiting?
Bentuk	had + been + verb + ing
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan suatu kegiatan yang sedang berlangsung di masa lampau sebelum kejadian lain menghentikannya

Simple Future
Affirmative	You will win.
Negative	You will not win.
Interrogative	Will you win?
Bentuk	will + verb
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang spontan akan dilakukan untuk menyatakan prediksi

Near Future (going to)
Affirmative	He is going to watch TV.
Negative	He is not going to watch TV.
Interrogative	Is he going to watch TV?
Bentuk	to be (in the simple present) + going + to + verb
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan suatu rencana di masa depan

Future Progressive
Affirmative	She will be listening to music.
Negative	She will not be listening to music.
Interrogative	Will she be listening to music?
Bentuk	will + be + verb + ing
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan sesuatu yang sedang terjadi di waktu yang spesifik di masa depan untuk menyatakan sesuatu yang sedang berlangsung ketika kegiatan lain terjadi di masa depan

Future Perfect
Affirmative	He will have spoken.
Negative	He will not have spoken.
Interrogative	Will he have spoken?
Bentuk	will + have + past participle (past participle of regular verbs: verb + ed | Past participle of irregular verbs: forms differ and should be learned by heart.
Fungsi	untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang telah terjadi di waktu yang spesifik di masa depan untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang telah terjadi ketika kegiatan yang lain terjadi di masa depan

Future Perfect Progressive
Affirmative	You will have been studying.
Negative	You will not have been studying.
Interrogative	Will you have been studying?
Form	will + have + been + verb + ing
Uses	untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang telah dan sedang berlangsung di masa depan
